DYER DIFFERENCE COMMUNITY OUTREACH

From humanitarian aid to the pursuit of goodwill worldwide, Rotary Clubs are dedicated to uplifting the most deserving of our society. Local Palm Bay businesses, such as Dyer Chevrolet, have helped fundraise for over 50 service projects in the last year alone.

At our February 19th event at Royal Palm Pointe, the Vero Beach Sunrise Rotary Club and Dyer Chevrolet hosted a Best Vero Beach Wings competition to fundraise for good causes. In addition to getting to taste over 180 Craft and Micro Brews, the January Dyer Difference Award ceremony also took place to commemorate the fantastic work Vero Beach Sunrise Rotary Club has done for the greater Winter Beach community. Recent Dyer Difference Award Recipients

We try to include a wide variety of Bartow organizations when we give the Dyer Difference Awards. We want to help everyone: children, four-legged friends, our senior citizen community members, and more. Here are some of the organizations we’ve recognized in Lake Wales:

• Little Birthday Angels Recognized in February This past February, Dyer Chevrolet partnered with Indian River County’s Little Birthday Angels. This nonprofit organization ensures that homeless children through the age of 18 are celebrated on their birthdays with gifts and necessities. These “necessities”, or Bags of Hope, are each filled with school supplies, snacks, toiletries, reusable water bottles, blankets, a lap desk, a new outfit, seven pairs of socks, and a special item from the child’s personal wish list.
• The Samaritan Center Awarded Dyer Difference Trophy in March The Samaritan Center, operating within the greater Melbourne area, offers transitional housing for families struggling with homelessness. The organization also provides at-risk Fort Pierce, homeless citizens, with budgeting and parenting classes, relevant job and life-skill training, and mental health counseling for children and adults. To fundraise the program, Dyer Chevrolet attended, donated, and awarded the March Dyer Difference Award at the Samaritan Center’s 16th Annual Bernard and Betty Egan Memorial Golf Tournament.
• April Dyer Difference Award Goes to Youth Guidance Youth Guidance has been providing mentoring, nutritious meals, vocational training, life skills instruction, and academic support to impoverished Indian River County children for fifty years. This focused, intentional encouragement and assistance make an incredibly positive impact on over 250 youth aged five to 24 in the greater Sebastian region. That’s precisely why Dyer Chevrolet chose to award Youth Guidance with the prestigious April Dyer Difference award earlier this year.
